Kewanee Welcomes
Kewanee Welcomes is dedicated to welcoming refugees into the community. Their work includes securing housing and basic necessities, assisting with job searches, providing guidance through the application process for documentation, conducting community and cultural orientation, providing ESL support, and helping refugees access the healthcare system and acquire a driver's license.
Kewanee Welcomes is a community project and nonprofit organization comprised mostly of Christian volunteers from various churches and denominations. While volunteers are encouraged to share Jesus throughout the resettlement process, participation is not limited to Christians.
