Honoring the Ministry Wives

Chantha Chhim   -

A special honoring to the ministry wives of Bunker Hill Church. Thank you to: Susan Chhim, Sharon Crownover, Meg White, Hannah Cadwell, Holly Kitchens, Abby Hamilton, Alyssa Berryman.

October unfolds itself with a gentle reminder to acknowledge and honor our pastors for their unwavering dedication to shepherding the flock. This Pastor Appreciation Month, we warmly embrace the pastors and the unsung heroes standing beside them – the pastor’s wives. Dear ministry wives, this appreciation extends its roots deeply toward you. We love you, we honor you.

“That is why, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might.”  – Ephesians 1:15-19

Beautifully penned by Natalie Runion of Raised to Stay Ministry:

For the wives of the pastors and shepherds who stand guard over their homes, husbands, and congregation with fierce loyalty and holy devotion, God sees the hidden tears you cry at night for the man you married and the burdens you carry, the secrets you harbor. It can feel so isolating to be the only one who knows every detail, from the platform to the pews. You are more than an ornament to be adored, you aren’t made of sugar and spice and everything nice, but rather created to war in the heavenlies with authority and power lavished upon you by our great God. You are not a sidekick, you are the first level of defense and catch arrows aimed for those you keep watch over. Your husband might be the shepherd but you carry give smooth stones and know how to use them against giants threatening your field.

In honor of the wives in ministry, we acknowledge the unspoken sacrifices, the silent prayers, and the unseen battles you engage in. May the Lord perpetually bestow upon you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, enlightening the eyes of your heart. May you continuously grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life He has bestowed upon His followers, understanding the utter extravagance of His work within us who place our trust in Him, recognizing that within you flows endless energy and boundless strength.

On this special month of appreciation, we honor you in love, admiration, and gratitude, whispering a gentle yet profound “thank you” to the heavens for you. May the Lord fortify your spirit, refresh your soul, and continue to shine His countenance upon you.
